Beef Liver and Onions Recipe

We know, beef liver sounds disgusting, simply, with this liver and onions recipe, the lowly beef liver will exist transformed into a culinary masterpiece!

Beef liver is rich in iron, and is often recommended as a food for people with iron deficiency. By pairing the beefiness with onions sautéed in butter, a sweet is added to the dish that helps cut through some of the metallic liver taste.

We are using beef liver in this recipe, but for a more mild taste, you tin can too utilise veal liver.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Beefiness Liver
  • 2 Onion (sliced)
  • 4 Tbsp Butter (divided)
  • ii loving cup Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Table salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • ane/2 tsp Paprika

Directions

  1. Add together 2 tbsp. of butter to a medium-big skillet and heat over medium high heat. Add the slices of onion rings and sauté until caramelized. One time they are golden, remove from heat, and wrap in foil to keep warm.

  2. While the onions are cooking, combine the flour, salt, pepper and paprika. Dredge the liver in the mixture and set bated. One time you have removed the onions from the pan, melt the remaining ii tbsp. of butter in the pan and so add the coated liver. Cook over medium-high heat, flipping one time for 3 minutes per side. Remove in one case washed, and do not overcook the liver.

  3. Serve the liver with mashed potatoes, gravy, and the caramelized onions on top. Enjoy!

    This was an like shooting fish in a barrel manner to make my liver without burning the onions. I practise soak the liver for most three hours in water before cooking.

    Me and my boyfriend love the hack out information technology. Information technology is so good he wanted more than. I am using the recipe to night.

    Absolutely delicious! Had not made it dredged in flour mixture and it does make a difference in keeping the liver moist. I rinsed information technology and soaked it in milk as my mother used to do. Just out of habit. Served with lemon wedges on the side as she did. Mashed potatoes and a well-baked watercress salad with lemon/oil/mustard dressing and voila! I was dwelling again.

    This was my first fourth dimension using this recipe. I have enjoyed it, did not paprika and so I used a Mediterranean season that has paprika equally a first ingredient
    The liver is difficult to buy, what I had was prepackage and cutting to thin!

    The recipe itself is authentic and perfect. BUT, interleaving those Thou******d earwax ads into it makes it icky and worth a good vomit.
